I’m the Eldest Grand. I’m a tea drinking, cronut loving, deep thinking daughter, sister, lover and friend. I started The Grandma Chronicles when my grandmother was diagnosed with colon cancer. After her surgery, she came to stay at my house for a while and my life changed.

I looked all over for advice on how to prepare for this big adjustment. I was bombarded with articles about how to prepare your home and your life for a new baby or a house guest. But, there is relatively little to explain what I would need to ease the transition from bachelorette pad to private nursing home.

Through this blog, I take you on a journey through the highs and lows of being a caretaker of an elderly and terminally ill loved one. I hope that you can learn from my wins and challenges so that your transition is easier.

My grandmother is snarky, sarcastic, funny and a trip. So, don’t expect to come here and read a bunch of sad stories. There will be those, but, a snarky sense of humor runs in the family. Expect to laugh, it is the best medicine after all.
